My big girl!!

Katelyn is getting to big way to fast!! This week she started holding her own bottle when she eats and today, she started sitting for short periods of time. It's more about toy location than sitting, but she was so proud of herself. She loves her toy poodle and when you put that baby inbetween her legs while she is playing, she can keep her balance for about 40-50 seconds. She loves sitting up. I think she can keep a closer eye on her brother when she is upright!!! We all need to know what he is up to at all times :~)

Cousins

What a fun weekend!! Zoe came down and we all got together to get cousin pictures. The kids had a blast running around the lake, playing in the leaves, but most of all just being together!! Zoe was quite smitten with Katelyn. I think she was happy to have another little girl in the family. She kept telling me she was going to teach her how to be a princess!!!

Katelyn 4 Months

A Night at Children's Mercy

Last night was Camden's big night at Children's Mercy Hospital. The doctors are trying to figure out if Camden doesn't sleep due to his ADHD or if it could possibly be something else. The only way to do this was to do a full sleep study at the sleep clinic. Mark packed up the kiddo and off they went. We talked a lot about how he was going to spend the night at the hospital and how the doctors were going to put sticky things on his tummy and his head. I did not prepare him for the oxygen tube in the nose. My poor little guy. He called me to say goodnight and he was screaming. He was absolutely terrified!! It's a good thing he was exhausted from being sick on Sunday and Monday. He fell right to sleep. He did a great job!!!

New Toys

"Your Never Gonna Get By Me"

Camden was the goalie for 3rd quarter of his soccer game on Saturday. When the coach called him up, I was so nervous. I just kept thinking... is he seriously putting my ADHD son at goal. I could just picture him playing in the grass and in the net, which he did, but he was also awesome! We would tell him to be ready and he did the cutest little stance in front of the goal all the while saying over and over, "Your never gonna get by me." It was so adorable!! He even went 2/2 in blocking the other team from scoring!!! We got one on video!!! Way to go Camden.

It's Eatin Time

Tonight Katelyn got to taste rice cereal for the first time... yes, I got to give it to her this time. Beat ya Mom ; ) She wasn't quite sure what she thought about it. She just kept spitting it out. I don't think she liked it to much. She prefers to chew on her hands. We put the left overs in her bottle. Maybe her little belly will be full enough to make it through the night. Wish me luck!!

Zip Line...

Last year, I was pregnant and puking every 10 minutes so i wasn't allowed to ride on the zip line at Sky Ranch. This year, I was the first one in line. Here are some pictures of my awesome experience. My zip line partner was Marks little cousin Danielle. She was the flower girl in my wedding 7 years ago and look at her now. I can't believe how fast she is growing up!! She is such a beautiful little girl; ) We had a blast!!!

Here you can view my video. I hung my camera around my neck and recorded the entire trip down... So cool! All those black things in the beginning of the video are wasps. At the top of the tower there were thousands of them flying around. It made it a little easier to JUMP. Put the playlist on pause and enjoy the experience ;)

Scrapbook Retreat 2008

This weekend was so much fun! Marks Aunt invited me to her scrapbook retreat at Sky Ranch in Oklahoma. She owns a scrapbook store in Bolivar called the Scrapnook. Lets just say I have not scrapbooked a thing for several months.. I haven't had any time!!! Mark and the kids dropped me off in Oklahoma and headed to Bolivar for the weekend. An entire weekend to scrapbook with NO Kids. Here are some of my favorite masterpieces from this weekend. I love having a girl!! ; )
I can't wait to get pictures on this layout. I have pictures of Mark teaching Camden to ride his bike. As soon as I get the pictures developed, I will put them on and replace this picture:)
The theme of the scrapbook retreat was Hollywood. This is a layout that I recieved by attending the retreat. Designed by none other than my sister-in-law....Holly. I love it!!
This was a big project. I am the worlds worst person at remembering birthdays. That is going to be my new years resolution next year is to remember birthdays and get cards in themail. I made myself this adorable little birthday calendar book and a few birthday cards.
Close your eyes Courtney... Just kidding. I am starting (just a few pages) a scrapbook for my good friend Courtney, who just told me that she is having twins. I made her beautiful daughter Alayna a scrapbook frame, so I figure these babies need something hand-made too!! Here is a little sneak peak!!
I also made a masterpiece for my mother for Christmas. I can't post it b/c I want it to be a surprise.... Sorry Mom, you gotta wait!!!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Friday was Camden's first field trip of the year. We went to the pumpkin patch. He has been talking about this fieldtrip for several months. Not because he was excited to go to the pumpkin patch, but because he is four and four year olds don't have to wear a safety harness on the bus.
We visited the petting zoo and Camden got to pet a bull. I think the maze was his favorite part. Here is a picture of Camden with his best buddy Cruz!! On the hayride, they had a rule that you could only pick up one piece of hay. That rule was really hard for Camden to follow. He loved playing in the hay. After the hayride, we had a nice little picnic lunch and then headed out to the pumpkin patch. Camden found the perfect pumpkin right off the bat and then picked one out for his baby sister!! What a fun day:)

Katelyn 4 Months Old

We had Katelyn's 4 month check-up today with Dr. Sauer. She said she looks perfect. She weighed 12 lbs. and 10 oz. (I didn't mention that I gave her a 6 ounce bottle while I was in the waiting room) This weight puts her in the 25-50% for other babies her age. She was 23 3/4 inches long which once again puts her in the 25-50% for her age. Pretty perfect if you ask me! She is a fantastic baby and at such a fun age! She is full of smiles and grins, giggles and laughs!! She loves to watch her brother playing around. She just learned about 2 weeks ago to blow raspberries with her lips. She does it all the time and drools everywhere. She also loves to play with her hands. She always has them clenched together or is trying to stuff her entire fist in her mouth! I am so scared that she will do it and get it stuck on of these days:) The thing she loves to do the most is to wake up her brother in the morning. Camden is a bear in the mornings, basically b/c he has trouble falling asleep and won't until around 11 or 12, so he is always still tired in the morning. Katelyn has started going in with me to give her big brother tickles to wake him up!! He loves it and wakes up laughing instead of screaming!! Thank you Katelyn!!!!

Bath Night!!

Many people will read this blog and think, "what in the world is she talking about?" Camden learned his letters in the bathtub. It is his passion! Reading and Books!! He is reading better than some of the first graders that I work with at school. While in the bathtub tonight, I asked him to spell the word CAP. He searched for the letters in the bathtub and smacked them up on the wall. I play a game at school with my kids called "old word/new word." I was very curious if Camden at the age of 4 and 4 months would be able to comprehend the game. I asked him to change the old word CAT to the new word CAP. He thought for a minute and took away the t and slapped up the letter p! Thinking that was just a fluke, I asked him to change the old word CAP to the new word TAP. He did it again!! We ended up playing for 45 minutes before I had even realized it! I just happened to have my camera right there b/c I took a few pictures of Katelyn. Here are some pictures from our fun bath night!! A few pics from my special little princess:)
