Grandma's trip to Chicago

Grandma came by the house tonight to see Camden and Katelyn. She spent the weekend with my Aunt Cathy and my cousin Kristin. I hear they had a blast!! They did some shopping while in Chicago. Grandma brought Camden a dinosaur shirt to wear to the dinosaur museum this summer and brought Katelyn a few outfits. We definitely had fun trying things on. She is definitely a girly-girl!!!! She loved getting new clothes. Mom would hold it out and baby Kate would grab it up and give it a hug. it was pretty cute!!

Grandma also arrived bearing gifts from Aunt Cathy!! Camden was so excited for the binoculars. He wouldn't put them down all night and even took them outside to do some bird watching!! Thank you Aunt Cathy!!!
TODAY is Aunt Cathy's birthday!!! Happy 50th birthday Aunt!!! We love you and wish we could be there to celebrate with you!!

Father of the Year

Mark definitely gets the award for Father of the Year award. It is so hard to clean the house around here when I have two tornado's constantly at my feet. Every time I get one room clean and move on to the next room, Camden or Katelyn decide the clean room is where they want to play... it never fails. Mark took both kids down to his parents house for the weekend and I stayed at home and cleaned house. I not only cleaned the house, but steam cleaned the carpets in my entire house.

On Saturday night, Mark called to inform me that Katelyn learned something new... She learned how to climb up stairs. Today, I caught her standing up looking at books without holding on to anything!! She is going to be walking before we know it!!

Mark forgot to take the camera, so I don't have any pictures, but I am sure I can get my mother-in-law to send me a few pictures of the weekend. I am hoping that she took some pictures!! I don't know what Mark was thinking! It's not like we get to see them all the time.. we need pictures of Katelyn and Camden with their Nana and Papa.

Not 15 minutes after being home, Mark and I were in the living room. We hear Camden say, "I'm so sorry Mom. I didn't mean to make a big mess on your really clean counter!" Actually, I was surprised it took all of 15 minutes for him to make a mess. The funny part of this story is the mess he made. He made himself a sandwich which consisted of: 2 pop-tarts, a cup of yogurt, and cheese. Sounds appetizing huh.... Gross!!!!!!

I also got to have a girls day with my sister. We went to see a movie and out to lunch together. We used to be able to do that all the time, so it was really nice to spend the afternoon with her. I had a blast Shawna.. We will have to do it again soon:)

Happy Birthday Mom

Camden brought me a birthday card this morning along with my favorite movie. I was brought to tears by the plain white envelope that held my card. Camden has been reading and writing for a long time. He has been writing his name forever, but I have never seen him write my name before. I know he knows how to spell it, I have just never seen him write it. And he did such a great job. The smile on his face when he brought me the card with MOMMY written in huge letters on the envelope brought tears to my eyes. It was the best birthday gift ever!!!!

Easter Sunday

What a spectacular Easter Sunday we had. It started at 4:00 in the morning when Camden came in our room wondering if the Easter Bunny had come yet... I wonder where he gets that can't sleep thing??? Who knows:) I ended up putting him back in his room with a movie. I told him that he can not get out of his bed and he had to be really quiet because if the Easter Bunny hadn't come yet, he would scare him away if he knew Camden was awake. This little stretch of the truth, bought me 2 more hours. Camden came back into our room at 6:00 when his movie was over. We all ran downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny visited our house and sure enough he had. There were eggs and suckers everywhere. The Easter Bunny brought Katelyn her first bunny and brought Camden a alligator. Well, according to Camden, it's not an alligator, it's a dinosucas. This should not surprise anyone knowing his love of dinosaurs. We had a spectacular Easter Morning!!
Next, we all got dressed and headed out to brunch. We met Great-Grandma, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Shawna and Uncle Ryan. Brunch was great. Grandpa was lucky enough to sit by Katelyn and spoil her the entire time. Katelyn sure loves her grandpa!!

After brunch we headed to see the Easter Bunny to thank him for our Easter presents. The Easter Bunny was at the Bass Pro Shop (Camden's favorite store) The funny thing about seeing the Easter Bunny this year was we tried 2 other times before. We tried on Friday and got there at 10:00, but he wasn't scheduled to be there until 3-7. Mom misread the ad in the paper and saw 10, but the 10 was actually for April 10. Saturday, Mark and I decided to take the kids, so we went at 4:30 thinking the hours would be from 3-7 again... WRONG. The bunny was only available from 11-3, so we missed him again. Needless to say, I checked the hours very carefully for Easter Sunday and we finally got to see the bunny:) Camden was so timid. He didn't like the way his eyes looked, so he didn't want to sit next to him. It wasn't until Camden saw Katelyn with the Easter Bunny that he changed his mind. As you can see, he was still very nervous:) Katelyn had a great first Easter.

Then We headed to Grandma's because the Easter Bunny visited there too!!! We spent the afternoon relaxing and watching my favorite movie.. Marley and me!!

Then we celebrated my birthday!!! What a great day:)

Easter Pictures

Nice Day for a Swing

Today the weather was beautiful!!! The sun was shining and it really felt like spring. We decided to take a trip to the park. Camden had a good time teaching Katelyn how to go down slides and how to swing like a "big girl." He also had a blast playing soccer with his Dad! What a great day!!!

Painting Eggs

This year, Camden was so excited to color Easter Eggs. He could barely contain his excitement to do this fun project. He wanted to do everything, from boil the eggs to make the food coloring. He was very adamant about paining the Easter eggs. He didn't want to drop them in dye to change their colors, he wanted to "paint" the eggs. I frantically called Mark on the way home from work and told him to stop by Walmart on his way home to find some sort of egg paint. Well, he did and he had a great time... We all had a great time:)

My Little Paleontologist

As a reward for very good behavior, Camden got a dinosaur fossil kit. He had to put together the dinosaur bones to discover what dinosaur he had just like real dinosaur scientist do. He had a great time. He discovered that he had found a Stegosaurus. He loved it!!

Stranger Danger

Our parent educator came by last night for Katelyn's last visit of the school year. When Katelyn saw her, she started screaming like she was being tortured. She clung to me the entire time and wouldn't even take her head out of my shirt. I guess it's about that time. I hope this phase passes by quickly;)
