Katelyn's First Birthday Party (June 6)

With Katelyn and Taylan's birthdays being so close together and them being in town from Chicago and Aunt Cathy being in from Indianapolis, we decided to have one big birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Katelyn...June 6, and Taylan...June 13th. We love you guys!!!! I hope your next year is as special as your first!!

Present Time at Grandma and Grandpas house!! This was a tad bit overwhelming for Katelyn at first. She did enjoy the tissue paper and big brother loved helping her open her presents.

CAKE TIME!!!!!! YUM! Katelyn definitely loved the cake. She didn't quite dig into it as much as Camden did on his first birthday, but she loved it. She has this thing with playing with her hair when she gets tired (I have no idea where she gets this:) About 3 minutes into her cake, sure enough, the hands went up to the hair. Her hair was sticking straight up with icing. She looked like a punk rocker baby!! A memory I will never forget!!

Aunt Cathy made Katelyn a ABC book. It is personalized with all sorts of information about her and her favorites and her family. This was a very thoughtful gift. I can't believe the time and energy that must have gone into it. Thank you so much Aunt!!
Proud Grandma's
You can't tell, but this shirt says, "my cousin and I are two peas in a pod." They had a blast together. I wish they lived closer so they could see each other more often!!!
Katelyn was so exhausted at the end of the night, she fell asleep in the two minute car ride home. Katelyn snuggles with her new toy every night. I want to say it is definitely her favorite. My cousin Amy got it for her and she loves it!!

Beersman Family Reunion (Memorial Weekend)

Here is the whole family. What a group!!!
The reunion is held in a public park with a ton of activities for all the kids. I think Camden and Katelyn loves all the playground equipment.

It's back!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!

I am still alive... I promise. My computer has been getting repaired. Talk about bad luck, after 3 weeks we got it back and somehow they managed to crack our LCD screen in the process of getting it back to me, so I had to send it away for another repair. WELL.. I finally have it back and I have so much to catch everyone up on:) We are having an awsome summer so far!!!!

Hats off to the Grad!!!

I thought this day would never come.... My little guy graduated from preschool!!! When he turned the corner to walk into the gymnasium with the graduation music playing in the background, I didn't think he was going to make it, however. Mrs. Melissa grabbed is hand and walked him in all the way to his seat. Once he sat down, he forgot about all the crowd behind him, so he was fine. It was so cute seeing little 4-5 year olds walk across a stage to get their diploma in caps and gowns. Grandma and Grandpa were both there to see him cross that stage:) I love this picture of Camden and Cruz. They have been buddies for a long time of coarse it helps that Cruz's mom and me are friends too!! We will just have to get together more often now that they can't see each other in school!!!

Birthday Boy---5 years!!!!

We had a great birthday party for Camden this week. We started out the day taking birthday cupcakes to school. He couldn't decide between spider man and the incredible hulk, so he got a pack of each:) All his friends loved his treats. After school, we headed out to Chuck E Cheese. The boys had a fantastic time playing on all the games.

Next we went to our house for cake and presents. Camden got a lot of great stuff for his birthday. He loves all the dinosaur things!!! Katelyn loves her brothers dinosaur stuff almost as much as he does.
Camden wanted a dinosaur cookie for his birthday. I looked through the Internet and found a way to make a dinosaur cookie cake. It actually turned out kinda cute!!!!

"I'm almost Five... That's so Awsome."

Camden's birthday was last Wednesday. Tuesday morning, Camden was starting to stir a bit, so Mark went into see him before he left for work. Camden was a little bit reluctant to talk since he was still a little sleepy. Mark reminded him that this was his last day to be four. He shot up in bed like a bolt of lightening and said, "I'm almost five... That's so awsome." He also told me on the way to school that he was going to be really good because it's his last day to be four. He was very cute:)

Teacher Appreciation Day- May 6

Camden and I cooked up a storm for Teacher Appreciation week. We made treats for Mrs. Samantha, Mrs. Christy, and Mrs. Melissa. We also brought them flowers and sonic gift cards because we know they love to go there:) Thanks for all you do!!! Camden loves you all so much!!

Katelyn 11 Months

Katelyn is now 11 months old. She is such a sweet little baby. She has started so many new and exciting things this month. My favorite is catch. She sits by you and hands you the ball and gets so excited when we throw her the ball. She picks it up and hands it to us again and then of coarse...she claps for herself:) I love it!!!

She has also started eating much more table food. She LOVES toast, strawberries, watermelon, and chicken nuggets. She is doing pretty good. I can't believe she will only be on formula for a few more weeks and then milk it is... I hope.

She has also started playing Peek-a-Boo all by herself. She laughs so loud when I say, "where's Katelyn.... There she is." I has a fantastic laugh!! Katelyn really has no interest in walking still. She will pull up and sometimes she will take a few steps if holding on to objects, but this has only happened a few times. She will stand for a few seconds until she realizes she is not holding on to anything and then she panics.

This is Marks favorite..... Katelyn has started climbing on everything. She loves climbing on the fireplace. The problem is once she gets up there, she will have nothing to do with getting down, so she just screams at the top of her lungs.

She is not much of a talker. I know she knows how to say many things, but she just kinda sits back and watches things as opposed to running her mouth. This I am extremely thankful for... I think one child that talks non-stop is about all I can handle. We have had to get tough on her this months about sleeping in her own bed. She has really gotten into a bad habit of sleeping with us when she wakes up in the middle of the night, but after crying it out for a few days, she is sleeping all night in her own crib again.

Kindergarten Screening

Reality set in a few weeks ago. Our school counselor brought me a packet for kindergarten enrollment. I knew that Camden would be going to kindergarten next year, but having the actual packet in my hand was very scary!!! It seems like only yesterday he was just a little baby and now he will be going to kindergarten in the fall. Today was kindergarten screening day. I left work early to go pick Camden up to go to the school. He was so nervous at first.... I didn't think he was going to go with the parent educator. After one minute of looking at the fish, he decided he would give it a try. I was really proud of him for going with the teachers and doing his very best.
They gave him a K-1 screening test. The thing that cracks me up is that he didn't earn points for his name and birthday. Things he has known since he was 2. With Camden, it's all in the way you word a question. Apparently, when they asked him when his birthday will be, he just kept saying... "it's in 7 days." Can you tell he is excited for the big day!!! When we got home, Mark asked him what date his birthday was on and he said... May 13th. It just goes to show you how literal Camden is. If you would have asked him what the date of his birthday was, he would have been able to tell you but asking him when his birthday will be, it's in 7 days.
He has a really hard time with making mistakes. Everything has to be perfect and if something trips him up, he panics and gives up. He stumbled on the body parts part of the test. It was that darn jaw that tripped him up and then he didn't know anything...
