Lost Tooth

My memory of Camden losing his first tooth on his own is unfortunately not a great one. Camden was really sick last week and ended up with a really bad ear infection. He is taking amoxacillin. He had a really bad day at school on Monday and it continued at home. He was being very defiant (what's new!!) He told Mark that he was not going to take his medicine and if Mark gave it to him, he would spit it out. THE LITTLE STINKER actually did it.... he spit it out all over mark. Camden's tooth came out in the struggle to force antibiotics down our child's throat. NICE HUH..... :)
Mean Old Mom confiscated his tooth for the night. There was no way in the world I was going to allow him to be visited by the Tooth Fairy after the day he had. Tuesday at school was much better... The Tooth Fairy visited and gave the little stinker 4 dollar bills and 4 quarters!! What a tooth!!!

Great Grandma's House

Sunday we went over to spend some time with Great-Grandma. We had a really good time!! My mom's battery in her car ran out while we were stopping for lunch so great-grandma had to come and rescue us in her 1977 Oldsmobile. Kinda funny, the 31 year old vehicle came to rescue us from the 3 year old one:)

We miss you girl!!

We sure miss you Maggie. Since Maggie has passed, Camden sleeps with his stuffed animal "Maggie" almost every night! Katelyn plays kissy face with her just like she did Maggie:)

Goodbye Maggie!!

Today I had to say goodbye to the best dog in the world. Maggie passed away early this morning. It was thought that she had a brain tumor that was pushing on her optic nerve causing her to lose vision in one eye. This diagnosis was given over a year ago. The vet suggested that we take her home and let her live a happy life. It never seemed to effect her other than her vision. I guess it finally caught up to her although you would never know it. Last night, Maggie and Katelyn were playing a kissing game. It was so cute. My camera was upstairs, so I wasn't going to go and get it. You always think, they will do it again and then I will take pictures then. Something just told me to get off my butt and go upstairs and get my camera. I am so thankful I did!!! We had no warning signs at all, she just didn't wake up this morning. I wish I would have known yesterday was my last day with her. I will always treasure these last pictures of my two girls playing the kissing game!!!

This is why Camden doesn't pick his own clothes...

I love the way Katelyn is looking at him. She has this look on her face like.. Who are you and what did you do with my brother!!!

Kindergarten Valentines in September

In the middle of dinner tonight, Camden jumped up and ran to the door looking for his backpack. It was in the car so I told him we would get it after we eat. He was adamant that we got it right away, he wanted to show me something. We went to the car and got his backpack. H rummaged through it and found a pink envelope with the letters... Camben written in kindergarten script. He opened it up to find a little letter inside from his friend in his class Lydia. Camden was so excited, he wanted to make her something too!!! Girl crazy already in kindergarten!!!

Katelyn's new Hairstyle

My little darlings hair is getting so long she can't see a thing. We decided to try something new. What a cuttie pie!!! Piggie tale girl!!!!

My kinda kid.....

This is how Camden and I enjoyed our Monday out of school. We both laid in bed and read books together. He made it for at least an hour before he bailed and went downstairs to tackle his dad!!!!! That's my boy!!!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend, Marks family came up and we painted the house... I can't believe what we got accomplished in one day: The entryway, kitchen, living room, hallways, Camden's room and Katelyn's room. We had a great time and enjoyed having the family up. Saturday was our painting day. Sunday we enjoyed a day at the ballpark. Once again, Camden was a disaster!!! Sports, sitting still, etc.. are just not his cut of tea. I think he liked the play area more than anything else. The new ballpark is beautiful!! I can't believe all the changes since last time we were there:)

Chiefs Game

We always take him to a pre-season game when the language is a little milder than the normal season. After last year, we asked him to think about if he wanted to go or not. We reminded him of the crowd, the noise, the smells, etc.. and he was still adamant that he wanted to go. Mark and I thought maybe he would be ready this year.... SO... we went!!!!
The entire time, he just kept telling us he wanted to leave and go home. The sounds, lights, smells, etc.. are just to much for him. We will always take him, but I think reality is setting in that we are never going to have the kind of son that wants to go to baseball games and football games. I guess we will just have to settle for his brilliant mind finding the cure for cancer or something else absolutely amazing!!!!

Time for School... again:)

I must have been out of my mind trying to move houses and get ready for school to start all within two weeks of each other. My house has pretty much been put on hold so I could get the school year started off on the right foot!! I LOVE TEACHING again!!! It's been a long time since I have been able to say that!! I have the best class in the world and couldn't be more happy!!

Camden LOVES school too!! I guess it just runs in the family. I went to pick him up on the first day of school and he told me, "kindergarten is so awesome!! It's just so fun." I can't tell you how good it was to hear:) When you worry about something for so long, it's nice to hear some good things!! I think putting him in summer school this year was the best decision Mark and I ever made. We got the really difficult anxiety stuff out of the way, and he is having a blast!! Of coarse, he has the best kindergarten teacher ever:) He is growing up way to fast!!!

While getting ready the other morning, he was putting on his shoes... Camden style (S...L...O...W...L...Y...) I was trying to get him to hustle, so I told him we were really late. You know what that little stinker said to me: "Mom, will you please stop being so dramatic." Can you believe it... me... Dramatic!!! He is developing quite a sense of humor!!

Here are some pictures from his first day of school. He didn't want to get any pictures with his kindergarten teacher on the first day. He wanted to wait until Friday. The significance in Friday.. I have no idea:)

Kids and Boxes!!

I can't figure it out.. never have. You buy a child awesome toys for their birthdays or Christmas just for them to ignore the toys and play with the boxes. Camden and Katelyn have been having a blast in our house the past month since we have been packing. They have had so much fun together!!!
