Sunday Surpise!!!

What a great surprise we woke up to this morning!!!! Camden wanted to go out and play first thing. Mark told him that he would let him go out and play later. I knew that little layer of snow would melt in no time at all, so I bundled the little guy up and out he went. It was only a little snow play, but the first snow of the year is always fun no matter how little it is!!

Santa where????

We went to visit Santa Claus Saturday at the Bass Pro Shop. Camden had such a good time!! Connor, Camden and Drayton loved looking at the trains that were set up to go around the Christmas tree. They even go to write a letter to the big guy. Camden told him what he wants for Christmas this year. He wants dinosaurs, a race track, and books. He is such an easy guy to shop for!! I hope Santa can make those things in his workshop ;)

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving with Marks family in Morrisville, MO. We had a fun filled day of eating, hide and seek, and playing cards. Everyone was excited to see Katelyn. They can't believe how big she is getting:)

First Dance with Daddy!

Katelyn loves dancing with her daddy!!!

Green Beans...YUM

My first time making my own baby food was quite an experience tonight. First, I cooked the green beans and put them in the food processor to get them ready to puree. Next, I got ready to blend everything up and discovered the food processor was not working. Not a problem, that is exactly why we have a small portable processor. Then, I mixed them up with a small amount of formula. I ended up making a ton or so I thought. Katelyn ate the entire bowl of green beans and her entire bowl of oatmeal. The green beans were a big hit!! Oh and the food processor worked fine... I just had the wrong lid on:( I guess I will know for tomorrow night!!!

WOW!! This girl can eat!! She cracks me up every time I feed her. The way she attacks the spoon you would think she hasn't eaten in days!!

Katelyn 5 Months Old

Well, this week Katelyn turned 5 months old. She is still an absollutely perfect baby!! She could sit all day and just watch her brother and be as content as can be. When she gets hungry, she wimpers a little and you feed her and she is good again. She has been doing fantastic since she started on rice and oatmeal. We started her on just rice at night before bedtime. She still didn't sleep through the night. Two weeks later, we added oatmeal in the morning and of coarse the rice at night.... Sleeps like a baby all night long. It's amazing what a little bit of solid food will do. The girl totally attacks the spoon. She loves eating. Since Camden and I have a vegetable every night, I think we are going to try to make our own baby food this time around. We are going to start with green beans tomorrow. I hope she likes vegetables as much as her brother and I do. Hopefully, she won't get dads taste for veggies:)
I had to take her to the doctor for the first time this week. Her eyes were really goopy. I had 3 of my kids at school out with pink-eye, so I was getting a little nervous that I had possible taken it home on my hands or clothes and had given it to her. It ended up just being a cold, but since it was in her eyes, they went ahead and put her on antibiotics. Even being sick, she was still a great baby!

Working with Grandpa

Camden was quite upset with our house because we have a big lack of leaves in the fall. When my father called and said he was going to rake leaves all day, I volunteered my son for the job. When we got to his house, Jim suited him up with a rake and even "work gloves." Camden was so content just raking the leaves with Grandpa. Not once did he even ask to jump in or do it himself. Finally Grandpa told him he was being to good and he needed to jump in a big pile. The look on his face was priceless.... He dropped the rake and took off his work gloves and jumped in. He went from pile to pile and had to jump in every one!! He had a great time:)

Soccer Party!

Camden's last soccer game was on Saturday. Tonight was his soccer party where he was awarded his soccer medal!! He is looking forward to soccer in the spring.

Kyrie Foundation Fundraiser

My sister is such a talented artist, but also has a heart of gold. She donated some of her artwork for a silent auction to benefit the Kyrie Foundation. I went to the benefit tonight to support my sister and her artwork, but what a reality check I got. Kyrie was a little girl that died of pediatric brain cancer. They showed a slide show that brought tears to my eyes as they reminisced of Kyrie's life. As I watched the slide show, I found myself holding my own daughter tighter and tighter. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your baby. The organization is small and just starting out, but it is for such a great cause!! http://www.kyriefoundation.com/

Oatmeal.. Yum

As you can see from the look on Katelyn's face, Oatmeal was a big hit. She is now getting rice in the morning and oatmeal for dinner. She is an awsome eater!!

Night-Night Kater!!

We started a new routine tonight. Camden was so excited to read a night-night book to his baby sister. He was absolutely adorable. He even gave her a night-night kiss :~)

Happy Voting!!!

Camden and I had a fantastic time voting together this morning. He has been so into this election. It's funny what even preschoolers can pick up on. I guess that just goes to show you how much this election has been in the media and on TV lately. He was so excited when trick-or-treating to see all the signs in the yards. He even wanted me to take a picture of him by his favorite candidates sign!! I think he just likes saying, "Barak Obama."

The past five years I have gone to the same polling station and I have never had to wait in line. I have always walked right up and voted, but not today. We were in line for 45 minutes. It's a good thing we got up early:) May the best man win!!!!

Night with the True's

We got some bad news about our monthly play date with my good friends last night. The Dickerson's son, Dominick, woke up very sick on Saturday morning, so we had to cancel and reschedule for a later date. Since the True's live close and we both had the night blocked off anyway, we called them to see if they would like to meet us somewhere for dinner. We went and had Mexican together and then came back to our house to play. Here is a picture of the little cuties. Reese is such a "mommy." She wanted to hold Katelyn all night long. She is going to be a fantastic big sister come April!!!!

Spooky Night

Katelyn's first Halloween was PERFECT!! The weather was absolutely beautiful!! Who would have thought on October 31st, we would be outside without coats enjoying 70 degree weather!! We had parent-teacher conferences at school on Wednesday and Thursday, which meant I was there from 8am-8pm. Exhausting!!! I guess it has it's advantages because I didn't have to work on Friday- HALLOWEEN. I got to spend the entire day with my kids. We took Camden for his IQ screening in the morning and had friends over for lunch at noon. We had a really good time!! Camden and I carved his pumpkin before dad got home, so he would be ready to hit the streets. We managed to get a few pictures of Katelyn in the grass before we carved her pumpkin up. It was a fantastic day!!!!!!!
Camden was a scurvy pirate. Yes, a scurvy pirate not a plain pirate, but a scurvy one- like on the Backyardigans!!! He was fantastic! He walked around saying, "Arr, Ahoy Matey" all night long. Katelyn was a beautiful Monarch butterfly! She did not enjoy her costume so well because her feet were in the inside, but we got a few pictures.
